Arc Infrastructure plans to reopen the Newdegate line before harvest, having developed a long term solution that will address flooding of the rail network in the area.
The solution involves lifting the existing track and building up the formation by one metre to reduce impact from any further flooding, and to future proof the line.
We will be investing around $1.5 million to achieve this long term solution and we are the sole funder of the remediation works.
We are currently undertaking detailed design and engineering works, engagement of key suppliers, and finalising a detailed timeline and costings which will need to be confirmed prior to commencement of works. Subject to geotechnical survey results, the project is anticipated to start within a matter of weeks and will be completed before harvest.
