Zonta House Refuge Association and Desert Blue Connect have been selected as the 2021 beneficiaries of our annual Christmas donation.

This year, the $30,000 contribution will be split between the two causes to support their invaluable work empowering those at-risk or impacted by homelessness and family and domestic violence.

Zonta House will be using their portion of the contribution to help give those impacted by family and domestic violence happy memories this Christmas. This includes women and their children in Zonta House refuges, transitional housing, and those who have moved into their own safe and stable accommodation to escape violence.

Quality time with loved ones and the autonomy to choose their own presents, can have a meaningful and positive impact on vulnerable members of the community so proceeds will be allocated to experience vouchers, gift cards and food for Christmas Day at two Zonta House locations.

Zonta House CEO Kelda Oppermann has thanked Arc Infrastructure for supporting their cause this festive season.

“The donation covers all existing Zonta House programs and maximises the support to the women and their needs this Christmas,” Ms Oppermann said.

“We appreciate Arc Infrastructure choosing to assist Zonta House in keeping women and their families safe in our community.”

Arc’s support of Desert Blue Connect will assist them in their development of a Women’s Wellness Centre to be opened next year. The site will offer a suite of services and include a GP and staff to provide support for mental and physical health and domestic and family violence counselling and advocacy.

Desert Blue Connect CEO Russell Pratt said the contribution has given the cause peace of mind that they can assist Mid West communities over the holidays without it impacting their future plans.

“Unfortunately we do see an increase in people needing to access our services around Christmas,” Mr Pratt said.

“The donation from Arc Infrastructure means we are better placed to meet the influx in demand for support this summer and offer people increasingly holistic initiatives in the new year.”

Arc Infrastructure CEO Murray Cook said the business was proud to support two important causes that are helping people in both Perth and the Mid West.

“Both Zonta House Refuge Association and Desert Blue Connect work tirelessly to provide shelter and support to vulnerable members of our communities,” Mr Cook said.

“I’m pleased Arc Infrastructure can play a small role in helping to keep women and children happy and safe these holidays.”
