Arc takes its commitments to sustainability and reconciliation seriously.

As the manager of the freight rail network in Western Australia, Arc Infrastructure recognises the responsibility we have to ensure the sustainability of this critical asset for future generations. 

Our business is a critical and long-term component of a global supply chain that connects Western Australian people and products to the rest of the country and to the world. We have a responsibility to the communities we operate in, the customers we serve and the environment around us.

Sustainability

Arc takes a long term view of sustainability and has decided to align with the global Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations (UN SDGs). These 17 goals with 169 supporting targets have become best practice around the world for driving sustainability strategy and have provided Arc with a language and context to identify how we can contribute to sustainability globally.

We have contributions to make in terms of our people, our environment, our community and stakeholders, our customers and safety and risk management. These key themes form the basis of our sustainability reporting and the actions we are taking, and align with the UN SDGs.

Reconciliation

Arc Infrastructure is taking action to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through meaningful recognition, training and job opportunities, social investment and relationship building. Throughout this journey we are aiming to develop a deeper understanding of the diversity of the Aboriginal communities across which we work and build trust and connections between our business, our people and local Aboriginal communities as well as contribute to the promotion of reconciliation more broadly.

Arc Infrastructure has proudly launched our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan in 2026. This RAP builds upon the foundations laid through our Reflect RAP and marks the next phase in our reconciliation journey and focuses on taking meaningful, measurable action across our business. 

Our network spans many Traditional Lands throughout Western Australia. We recognise the deep cultural connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, and we are committed to building respectful relationships, deepening our cultural understanding and creating opportunities that support equity and long-term outcomes. 

The Innovate RAP is the second stage in Reconciliation Australia’s RAP framework. It moves beyond building awareness and sets practical steps to embed reconciliation into the way we work. Over the next two years we will continue to learn, listen and grow, while strengthening partnerships with Aboriginal organisations, communities and suppliers. 

Our vision is for a more connected, inclusive and equitable Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are respected, celebrated and empowered. We acknowledge our shared history and are committed to truth telling, cultural learning and genuine partnership. 

Through our Innovate RAP we commit to: 

• Acknowledging and learning from the past by embedding truth telling across our workplace learning and communications 
• Listening, learning and growing by building cultural awareness and creating space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices 
• Building strong and genuine relationships with Traditional Custodians, communities and organisations connected to the lands our network traverses 
• Fostering an inclusive and culturally safe workplace 
• Partnering for long term outcomes that create opportunities and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples  

Our Innovate RAP features original artwork by Noongar Whadjuk and Ballardong artist Linda Lee Loo. The artwork represents our freight rail network and the many places, people and connections that shape our work across Western Australia. The artwork appears throughout the RAP and on a special lanyard created for our people as a symbol of our commitment.
