Arc Infrastructure is proud to release our third Annual Sustainability Report, for the 2024 calendar year, highlighting significant milestones and progress across our sustainability initiatives.

This comprehensive report reflects our commitment to sustainability and our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable practices into our business operations.

The 2024 Sustainability Report builds on our Sustainability Strategy, launched in 2022. The Sustainability Strategy identified more than 40 initiatives broken into five themes; People, Environment, Community and Stakeholders, Customers, and Safety and Risk Management.

This year’s report includes more data and metrics, reflecting Arc’s evolving approach to sustainability and our growing maturity in governance and reporting. The latest report also highlights key achievements in the form of case studies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Highlights from the 2024 Sustainability Report include:

  • The launch of the Track Mates peer support program to enhance mental health support for employees

  • The development of our draft Bushfire Mitigation Strategy, demonstrating Arc’s proactive approach to environmental stewardship and the outcomes of the bushfire risk assessment process

  • Commencing a new Principal Partnership with Zonta House Refuge Association to support women escaping family and domestic violence

  • The opening of the Kenwick Intermodal Terminal to enhance rail modal share and support Fremantle Port and the future Westport

  • Signing a new track access agreement with Gold Valley to support increased freight on rail and growth opportunities in the Yilgarn iron ore region

  • Launching an updated Parental Leave Policy offering 20 weeks of paid leave for primary carers

  • Developing our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to articulate the unique benefits offered to our people

  • Continuing our support for tertiary rail education through partnerships with Edith Cowan University and North Metropolitan TAFE

Acting Chief Executive Officer Nathan Speed said the report reflects the evolution and growing maturity of Arc’s approach to sustainability. “I am proud of the progress we have made this year across the business, and in the time since we launched our Sustainability Strategy in 2022.  Many of our initial 40  initiatives are now part of our ‘business as usual’ operations, reflecting the way sustainable practises have been embedded in the way we do business".
