Arc Infrastructure’s Digital Twin and autonomous rail container wagon projects have both been shortlisted for awards at the upcoming Australasian Rail Industry (ARI) Awards.
The ARI Awards recognise and celebrate individual and company achievements in the rail industry, showcasing examples of excellence and innovation to support its growth and success.
Our Digital Twin project team has been shortlisted for the Rail Innovation of the Year Award and the Freight Rail Excellence Award. The Digital Twin is a sophisticated virtual representation of Arc’s freight rail network infrastructure and assets, and is being used by Arc to make better strategic and targeted decisions, grounded in data.
The autonomous rail container wagon project has also been nominated for the Freight Rail Excellence Award. Arc developed the concept with the Westport project in mind, utilising existing technology from numerous industries and applying them to a rail scenario.
Arc’s Network Operation Interface Principal Kevin Reeves has also been recognised as a finalist in the Career Achievement Award Category. Kevin celebrated 50 years of service in 2022.
Kevin has been a champion for safeworking throughout his rail career and is an industry leader and mentor in the field.
Arc’s Chief Executive Officer Murray Cook said the award nominations are a small reflection of the incredible work that is happening every day across the entire business.
“Congratulations to all the teams who have contributed to the success of these projects and to everyone in the business contributing their time and energy to improve the running of our business,” Mr Cook said.
