Arc Infrastructure was pleased to sponsor the 2024 Avon Descent, continuing more than 30 years of support for the iconic river event and community festival held in our Central region.
More than 30 Arc employees from across the business volunteered at the event from 9 to 11 August, covering Protection Officer duties.
The volunteers assist in keeping participants, support staff, including rescue crews and spectators, safe around the freight rail network at various locations between Northam Weir and Bells Rapids.
Regional Lead Central Andrew Thompson was proud Arc was able to sponsor and participate in such an important community event.
“To have such a large contingent of our staff volunteer their time over the weekend to make sure there was safe interface between competitors, event staff and the public and rail movements throughout the event is a credit to our people and our business,” Andrew said.
“The dedication of our business to support this event is just another example of Arc’s commitment to rail safety and ensuring the safety of the communities in which we operate.”
Arc Infrastructure is proud to have supported the Avon Descent for over 30 years, volunteering at specific sites along the course to provide safe passage to members of the public within the rail corridor. Our ongoing support over the past three decades has meant the community can enjoy a fun-filled weekend without compromising their safety around the railway lines.
