Arc Infrastructure’s three-year Principal Partnership with Foodbank WA continues to deliver meaningful outcomes across WA's Wheatbelt region, helping to combat food insecurity and promote healthy eating habits in regional communities.
Foodbank WA believes that everyone should have access to good quality, healthy food. The 2025 Foodbank Hunger Report revealed a staggering reality, that in Australia, many people still go without food every day.
Almost 3.5 million Australian households revealed that they faced food insecurity in the past 12 months. The report also highlighted that while the awareness of where to access food supports has increased, many people still hesitate to seek help due to shame and uncertainty.
Education programs offered to schools and community groups, such as Foodbank WA’s nom! Program, play a vital role. They provide practical support without the stigma, in a proactive and empowering way.
Throughout 2025, Arc Infrastructure has proudly supported Foodbank WA’s Feed and Educate Project through their nom! program, which equips children and families with the knowledge and skills to make healthier food choices, budget effectively, and prepare nutritious meals. Arc supported 20 nutrition education sessions across the Wheatbelt, involving 222 kids and adults.
Sessions were held at select schools and community centres across Northam, Gingin, Kondinin/Corrigin, Cadoux/Calingiri/Wongan Hills and Moora/Lancelin.
A handful of nom! programs are also being scheduled in for the summer break, reaching community members in some larger Wheatbelt centres and providing local families with free educational and practical activities for their kids and teens over the long school break.
Along with the meals, participants learn about 5 food groups, money saving tips, sugar content in different drinks, and are supported to explore the health benefits of alternative options. Most recently the nutrition team visited Moora and Lancelin to offer nom! sessions to adults and youth, supporting the broader community to make healthier choices around food.
One of the participants of the nom! Adults program said, “I didn’t know how easy and quickly you could make such a diverse range of dishes, and learn about nutrition, food safety, and how to save money all at once.”
Arc Infrastructure Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Unwin expressed her strong support for the partnership.
“Arc Infrastructure is deeply committed to the communities we serve, and our partnership with Foodbank WA is about empowering regional towns with the tools and support they need to thrive," Stephanie said.
Foodbank WA Chief Executive Officer Kate O’Hara echoed the importance of the partnership:
“Arc Infrastructure’s commitment has supported us to continue to deliver critical services to communities that need them most. Their funding has enabled us to run nutrition education programs across the Wheatbelt. It’s partnerships like this that make our mission possible.”
