Arc Infrastructure has entered a new Principal Partnership with Zonta House Refuge Association Inc (Zonta House) to support women and children in Zonta House refuges, transitional housing, and those who have moved into their own safe and stable accommodation to escape violence.

The announcement comes during the annual 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence Against Women campaign that takes place from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

Zonta House is located in Perth and operates as a not-for-profit organisation. They have been providing services for over 40 years, and currently operate a suite of 13 programs to help people facing family and domestic violence, abuse and coercive control (FDV) access and navigate the support they need in a coordinated, trauma-informed, and empowering manner.

The funding from Arc’s three-year Principal Partnership with Zonta House comes to a total of $150,000 and will be allocated towards Family Assistance Support and Residence Enrichment Workshops and Activities.

The Zonta House Family Assistance Support program helps to address the specific needs of children and young people impacted by FDV, offering emotional support, ongoing support coordination, and individualised activities aimed at enhancing their wellbeing.

Zonta House Residence Enrichment Workshops and Activities offer a variety of including self-care practices, art therapy, gentle fitness, personal development sessions, skill building, and multicultural experiences. The aim is to create meaningful opportunities that foster physical and mental well-being, cultivate a sense of belonging, and promote personal growth.

Zonta House CEO Kelda Oppermann thanked Arc Infrastructure for supporting their cause.

“Arc’s ongoing sponsorship of our Family Support and Residence Enrichment Workshops and Activities will provide women and children with healing and enrichment opportunities. Both programs acknowledge the diversity of needs for, and, the uniqueness of Victim/Survivors, the need for choice and dignity. The programs focus on safety, where victim/survivors can be themselves, feel free of judgement, and can start to heal,” Mrs Oppermann said.

“We appreciate Arc Infrastructure choosing to assist Zonta House in increasing the safety of those impacted by FDV, helping to meet essential needs and building futures free from violence and abuse.”

Arc Infrastructure CEO Murray Cook said the business was proud the new sponsorship would help Zonta House continue to offer holistic, person-centred, and culturally safe assistance on a case-by-case basis.

“We recognise the meaningful and positive impact Zonta House Refuge Association has on the community and look forward to continuing our relationship with our Principal Partnership following our Christmas donation in 2021,” Mr Cook said.

“I’m pleased Arc Infrastructure can play a small role in Zonta House programs helping to build connection, empowerment, voice, and skills development, with activities and crucial support.”
