Arc Infrastructure is undertaking essential maintenance works on the rail network in the Mid West Region at the Williams Street / Mingenew-Morawa Road level crossing from 25 August to 29 August 2025.
The works will require a temporary closure of the level crossing and a detour for motorists to the Boolinda Road / Eleanor Street level crossing and will include the removal and replacement of the track and the upgrading of associated infrastructure.
All practical efforts have been made to minimise disturbance to the surrounding residents and the wider community. Please follow all traffic management signage and directions during the works period.
The detours are as follows:

Midlands Road (Eastbound) - Detoured via Boolinda Road -> Eleanor Street

William Street (Northbound) DETOUR FOR LIGHT VEHICLES ONLY - Detoured via Midlands Road -> Boolinda Road -> Eleanor Street

Midlands Road (Westbound - LV) DETOUR FOR LIGHT VEHICLES ONLY - Detoured via William Street -> King Street -> Victoria Road -> Midlands Road -> Boolinda Road -> Eleanor Street

Midlands Road (Westbound - HV) DETOUR FOR HEAVY VEHICLES ONLY - Detoured via Boolinda Road -> Eleanor Street

Eleanor Street (Westbound) - Detoured via Mingenew Morawa Road -> Ernest Street -> Melville Street -> Eleanor Street -> Boolinda Road

Mingenew Morawa Road (Southbound) - Detoured via Eleanor Street -> Boolinda Road
These works are part of Arc’s investment in the rail network in the Mid West and will ensure the integrity and safety of the State’s freight rail network, a critical piece of infrastructure for the ongoing development and growth of our economy and communities.
