Our Central team is planning critical maintenance works which will require a complete road closure in Northam.
Yilgarn Road will be closed to all traffic from the intersection of Peel Terrace to the intersection of Old York Road.
The closure will be in place from 6am on Tuesday 11 June until 6pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024.
The detour for heavy vehicles coming to and from York will divert via Muluckine Road to Grass Valley and then onto Great Eastern Highway. Access to the Heavy Vehicle Assembly Area on Yilgarn Avenue will not be impacted.
The detour for light vehicles will be via Old York Road and Taylor Street. Please note the bridge on Old York Road has a weight restriction and is not suitable for vehicles over 14 tonnes gross weight.
The closure is required to enable critical upgrades to the railway and significant improvements to the amenity and road service condition of this busy level crossing.
