WORKS UPDATE 20.05.2026

Safety Notice: Track vehicle movements

Arc is preparing for an intensive construction period on the Agricultural Supply Chain Improvement Project (ASCI).

Safety Notice: Track vehicle movements teaser

Arc Infrastructure will shortly commence an extended shutdown of the railway between Carmanah and Mingenew to support the completion of the Agricultural Supply Chain Improvement Project.

Although the ‘shutdown’ means customer trains will not be moving on the network as usual, there will still be significant activity in the area during construction.

From a safety point of view, Arc will be using various track machines in the area and therefore, it is vital for road users and pedestrians to remain vigilant near the railway and at level crossings.

Vehicles which you may see on track during the shutdown include:
  • Ballast wagons
  • Road-Rail Vehicles
  • Track machines
  • Rail grinders
  • Locomotives
Traditional construction machinery will also be used, such as excavators.

This means there should be no change in behaviour at level crossings. Drivers and pedestrians should remain vigilant and follow the road rules as usual. This means stopping at a STOP sign or responding appropriately to active protection (lights/boomgates/bells).

If you have any questions or concerns regarding activities during this period, please contact communications@arcinfra.com.
