Arc Infrastructure is proud to have been named a finalist in the 2025 Australasian Railway Association (ARA) Rail Industry Awards.
Arc’s peer-support program, ‘Track Mates’, has been selected as a finalist for the TrackSAFE Wellbeing in Rail Award, a category which recognises the range of activities organisations have implemented to enhance safety on and around rail systems.
Arc launched the ‘Track Mates’ program on
Rail R U OK? Day in 2024, aiming to provide a peer-led support program encouraging our people to seek help early if they are struggling. ‘Track Mates’ are from all business areas and regions across the Arc network, representing diverse cultures, genders, ages, and levels of seniority.
Arc partnered with Lifeline WA to develop and deliver training to the peer-supporters. Training included essential skills such as active listening and gentle questioning techniques, with ongoing upskilling sessions being delivered since the program was launched.
Arc Infrastructure Acting Chief Executive Officer Nathan Speed said the business was humbled to have had its ‘Track Mates’ program recognised with a nomination in the 2025 Australasian Rail Industry Awards.
“We are proud of the ‘Track Mates’ program and the impact it’s already had across our business over the past 14 months,” Nathan said.
“At Arc we understand that by fostering a supportive environment where employees can share their experiences and challenges early, in an informal setting, our trained ‘Track Mates’ can then assist their colleagues in finding more formal, professional support before these pressures and stresses become significant issues.
“The wellbeing of our people is paramount and we are delighted to see our peer-support program being recognised this way.”
The ARA award winners will be announced in Sydney on 17 September 2025.
