Update to the Network Safeworking Rules

Arc Infrastructure has updated Network Safeworking Rules and Procedures.

Update to the Network Safeworking Rules teaser

Arc Infrastructure is streamlining some of the existing Network Safeworking Rules to prepare for the introduction of the new Safe Train Control System (STC) in train order territory in the coming months. STC will be replacing our existing Train Order System (TOS) as part of the first phase of ENCP.

The last significant update to the Rules occurred in 2019 with the introduction of the current suite of rules. This time, a subset of our existing Network Safeworking Rules and Procedures has been updated to align specifically with the new system.

The Rules included in this update are:
  • Rule 1001 - Scope of the Network Safeworking Rules
  • Rule 4009 - Removing Disabled Rail Traffic
  • Rule 5017 - Train Order Working
  • Procedure 9016 - Authorities and Forms
Arc will commence operation under the new Rules as of Monday, 14 March 2022 at 06:00 hours.

The current applicable version of the Network Safeworking Rules and Procedures is located on the network safeworking page. It will be the responsibility of each Track Access Permit (TAP) holder to ensure that they have access to the latest version.
