Arc Infrastructure is proud to be continuing its support of the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre, committing $90,000 over the next three years towards the centre and its vital services.

Arc’s commitment will support the ongoing regional expansion of the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre in person and online. This includes T1D Empower, a peer mentoring program for teens living with type 1 diabetes and a CONNECT Regional Program, reducing geographic barriers to accessing type 1 diabetes care.

Type 1 diabetes is one of the most complex self-managed conditions, requiring on average more than 180 extra health-related decisions per day for a person or their carer. The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre was established in 2015 to offer clinical care, and wrap-around social support, ensuring no one has to face the condition alone.

Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Jardine recognised Arc’s Principal Partnership and commitment to the centre’s expansion.

“We are delighted that thanks to the enduring support of businesses like Arc Infrastructure we have made major progress in improving the breadth and depth of services available to people living with type 1 diabetes,” Mr Jardine said.

“Thanks to Arc’s support we are improving the quality of type 1 diabetes education, care and support, making long lasting connections, particularly with local communities throughout the South West of Western Australia.

“The success of T1D Empower and the CONNECT Regional Chapter Communities program has helped to address a real community need.”

Arc Infrastructure Acting CEO Nathan Speed acknowledged the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre’s work in helping people with the day-to-day challenges of living with the condition.

“We’re proud to have supported the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre since 2018  and really pleased that our renewed commitment will further expansion of the centre’s vital services in both metro and regional areas," Mr Speed said.

“With around half of our workforce living in regional WA, we are proud that the initiatives Arc supports span such a vast area of the state and help to positively impact the lives of families in many regional communities.”
