  • Our Midwest team is responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of over 600 kilometres of track, playing a vital role in delivering WA grain and iron ore to the world for our customers CBH Group, Karara Mining Limited and Mount Gibson Iron.

The $550 million Midwest Rail Upgrade is a great example of how we’ve opened up new regions for industry, enabling the export of local iron ore from Geraldton Port to overseas markets.

Our commitment to the Midwest region extends far beyond investment into our infrastructure. We contribute to the economic growth and development of the region by employing local people, engaging with industry (including as a member of the Midwest Chamber of Commerce and Industry), supporting community initiatives and protecting the environment.

We're always looking for ways to get involved and participate in the Midwest region. This year we sponsored the Arc Infrastructure Family Interest Pavillion at the Mingenew Midwest Expo. Our interactive rail safety education display took out the best family interest display site. Members from our Metro and the Midwest teams got together to say hi to people attending the Expo, show our rail safety education game to children and explore what the Expo had to offer.

In the last few years we have partnered with Indigenous Parent Factor Program, Hawaiian Ride for Youth where our teams have ridden across the Midwest, Geraldton Men's Shed and the Moora Equestrian Club.
We're a major partner of the Geraldton Centre for Hunger Relief, Foodbank WA's busiest regional branch, providing over 1 million meals each year to people across the Midwest, Murchison and Lower Gascoyne regions.

Our $100,000 sponsorship of the multi-temperature food delivery truck will assist Foodbank Geraldton in meeting  the ever growing demand they face for meals to be supplied across an area of over 250,000 square kilometres.

We have seen our employees from the Midwest team volunteer in the Foodbank Geraldton kitchen, and our metro team volunteer in the community kitchen or warehouse in Perth. Over six months, our team mates have prepared 26,000 meals and repacked, sorted and shifted 120,000 kilograms of food.
